Tasked with making the most out of a constrained space, project oversaw the complete redesign for a master bathroom of a single family house. Design approach reimagines the layout as two interlocking volumes, demarcated by light and dark toned finished surfaces. The existing skylight is taken as the main spatial anchor around which layout is organized, configuring a walk in shower, a standalone tub and a double sink vanity. Tonal contrasts of fixture and surface finishes, careful proportional relations, and intentional juxtaposition of reflective surfaces and light, add up to combine modest elements to create a bathroom space that feels spatially expansive through dynamic use of restraint.
